Taking into account your budget and property type, there are several options to choose from when it comes to adding a garage to your home. This includes an attached garage that is integrated with the existing structure or a free-standing detached one away from the home. For a cost-effective option, carports are a great choice to shelter a car, ATV and other equipment or provide outdoor shaded living space. From initial measurements to the finished product, NGL Group and its team of experts will be there with you all the way. We have experience with both residential and commercial projects.

In order to adhere to municipal zoning and building bylaws, you’ll need to obtain the property’s survey or site plan that shows the property lines. If you don’t have a survey of your home, our team can help you obtain one.

You will work closely with our talented team of architects and engineers who will prepare architectural drawings according to your budget and needs. At this stage, you’ll consider the square footage (will you need to house one car or two?), any electrical requirements (for lighting and electric vehicles), and even plumbing if necessary. You’ll also be able to choose whether to include windows and a walkout door. Our goal is to design a garage that is both durable and functional. Your garage or carport can be as simple or complex as you desire!

Because garage additions or replacements are major renovations, building permits will need to be obtained before the building phase. Our team will take care of acquiring permits and all necessary documents for the project. We will coordinate with vendors, contractors and trades to request quotes, prepare building estimates and establish construction schedules and timelines.

We provide construction supervision throughout the building phase and will coordinate with municipal inspectors to ensure that the project adheres to the design and technical plans, as well as building code and municipal bylaws.
